Arrangements made in the privacy of your home.

Leanne Bell and her staff, believe that families, in their time of need should be able to make funeral arrangements in the comfort of their own homes.

We have achieved this objective. Our trained, caring and compassionate funeral directors will travel to your residence to conduct and assist with Funeral Planning. This service ensures that families are not placed in an "interview" type situation, but are rather at home with their loved ones.

However, if families wish to visit our funeral home, they can be assured of a warm and caring reception, in a relaxed and comfortable environment.

So what does the process look like and what happens next?

When a loved one passes away, please call our 24 hour service number - 083 783 77 33 OR (031) 205 7644
Our staff will arrange for your loved one to be collected from the location you provide in our personal hearse.
Your loved one will be brought back to Shanleys premises where they will be respectfully looked after in our personal morgue.
Our staff will assist with all the following arrangements and paperwork on your behalf so you can focus on what matters most.
We will visit the Department of Home Affairs to obtain the death certificate.
We will liaise with our Doctor on call to sign off on the death certificate.
We will help with all arrangements such as choosing the type of service you want and need.
If required we will help with choosing the church and minister as well as any other special requirements.
If required we will help with any flower arrangements and catering as well as transportation.

Cremation Services

We provide respectful and professional cremation services, guiding families through the process with care. We use a private crematorium which ensures that every aspect of the final journey is handled with the utmost respect and meticulous attention to detail. Our crematorium is compliant with all state laws governing cremations and allows families to book specific times for witnessing the cremation service. It also allows families to organize unique and private farewell ceremonies.

Memorial Services

Our team helps you create a meaningful tribute, ensuring everything is handled with care and respect. Our funeral directors will walk with you hand in hand every step of the journey to ensure a consistent and high quality service.

Traditional Church Funeral Services

We offer compassionate traditional Church funeral services to honor lives with dignity and support for those grieving. We take care of all the arrangements with the church and the minister as well as the flow of the day through your guidance. With strong local ties and a trusted reputation you can take comfort in knowing we will provide the best service to honor your loved ones on the day of their funeral.

Committal Services

We have a committal room and viewing room available. We can arrange a Minister for small committal services at Shanleys premises OR we have our own Minister available for small Committal services at Shanleys. The room seats 10 people.

Burial Services

We are able to assist you with the burial of a loved one and will walk you through the various options available. Should you have an existing family grave, you will need to have the title deed/information pertaining to the grave. We can also assist with the paperwork for opening/acquisition of a grave (monumental/headstone removal if required). Burial Services can be before or following a Memorial Service or a Funeral Service (with or without a coffin present). Graveside services, where the ceremony is conducted at the grave, rather than at the church is also an option.

Monumental Work Offered

We have a wonderful monumentalist who can provide any type of design you require for a tombstone or plaque. We will help you to select one that is a fitting tribute to your loved one. We will also help you make the right choices regarding available materials and whether or not there are any cemetery regulations and paperwork to be submitted.

Catering for Funerals

Shanleys Funeral Home has a range of services we offer to cater for your Funeral. We will assist with arranging a venue and celebrant/priest/minister. The purchase of a coffin if required. Flower tributes and arrangements. The design and print of Funeral leaflets. The design of press notices and social media notices (a memorial image for you to post on social media with funeral details) Catering for your service.

Funerals Policies

The death of a family member or a loved one is always a sad and traumatic event, even more so if no provision has been made to cover the financial burden which falls on the immediate family. We offer prepaid funeral cover OR Monthly Insurance Funeral Cover up to the age of 85 years. No medical exams or health screenings required. Our funeral directors can send you all the documentation you need or come visit us at our offices. Our Objectives are: Easy and affordable premiums Valid claims are settled within 24 hours Premiums are payable monthly in advance on or before the 1st day of each month

Exhumations

Shanleys can assist you with the re-opening of a grave and the removal of the deceased. Exhumation can take place only in particular circumstances, such as: When a court orders an exhumation as part of a criminal investigation For public health reasons, for example if a graveyard or cemetery is being moved Family reasons, for example if the family of the deceased person asks for the remains to be moved to another burial ground, another part of the country, abroad, or the remains to be cremated.

Flower Arrangements

Shanleys can provide a variety of beautiful flower arrangements to cater for any of your needs. We have a wonderful florist - Fleur Florist who has worked with our business for many years and is well rehearsed on what type of displays we require. We offer flower arrangements for traditional church services, memorial services, committals services, cremation services and burial services. Coffin/casket Sprays Wreaths Upright Arrangements
